LOOKING FOR FORGIVENESS
AS A BELIEVER

A born-again believer in Jesus Christ, never ever has to beg God the Father for anything, especially when seeking forgiveness. Satan uses condemnation to pressure believers into thinking that God won’t forgive them, that God is unapproachable. Yet God’s response is that the believer can come boldly into His Throne Room to receive mercy in their time of need.
Romans 8:1-2, Hebrews 4:16 ( KJV, TPT )
That doesn’t give the believer license to be arrogant through entitlement though. God states clearly in James 4:6 that He resists the proud but gives grace to the humble.
Boldness towards God is not found in familiarity but flows from a deep trusting relationship with Him. Our heavenly Father has freely provided everything you’d ever need before you ever knew you would. Thus, Christ’s redeeming blood paid the penalty for your sin at Calvary dealing totally with “the wages of your sin is death.”
Matthew 6:8, 2 Peter 1:2-4, Romans 6:23, Ephesians1:6-7, Revelation1:5-6, ( KJV; TPT )

Forgiveness through faith in Jesus Christ’s Redemptive Blood is freely available upon your confession of the sin or sins you’ve committed.
1 John1:9, Galatians 3:13-14
“If we freely admit our sins when his light uncovers them, he will be faithful to forgive us every time. God is just to forgive us our sins because of Christ, and he will continue to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”
1 John1:9, 1 John3:18-24 ( TPT )
The devil delights in seeing you grovel in the dirt begging for forgiveness not believing your worthy enough to receive it because of what you’ve done but he’s a liar and knows if you believe him, he’ll keep you enslaved. Listen there’s absolutely nothing you can do to be worthy of God’s mercy in your own right, you’ve been made the righteousness of God through Christ’s Blood and that alone is what makes the forgiveness you seek available.
2 Corinthians 3:5, 1 Peter 1:18-19, 2 Corinthians 5:17-21

Following is an example of a confession of sin to God:
Father, in Jesus Name I come into your presence to confess my sins of anger towards my boss, judging, criticizing and cursing him. I acknowledge what I did was wrong, so I forgive him and release him from my judgement, criticism and cursing in Jesus Name. And I ask you Father to forgive my sin of anger, judgement, criticism and cursing against my boss and to be released from the judgement, criticism and cursing my actions incurred against me in Jesus Name, cleansing me entirely of all unrighteousness. Thank you, Father, for hearing and forgiving me, I receive my forgiveness now, and the cleansing of all unrighteousness from my life amen.

“And when you pray, make sure you forgive the faults of others so that your Father in heaven will also forgive you. But if you withhold forgiveness from others, your Father withholds forgiveness from you.”
Matthew 6:14-15 ( TPT )
“You are my dear children, and I write these things to you so that you won’t sin. But if anyone does sin, we continually have a forgiving Redeemer who is face to face with the Father, Jesus Christ, the Righteous One. He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world.”
1 John 2:1-2 ( TPT )
“He sacrificed himself for us that he might purchase our freedom from every lawless deed and to purify for himself a people who are his very own, passionate to do what is beautiful in his eyes.”
Titus 2:14 ( TPT )
“Your sins are washed away, and you are set apart for God, and he has accepted you because of what the Lord Jesus Christ and the Spirit of our God have done for you.”
1 Corinthians 6:11 ( LB )
“And not only us, but all the prophets agree in their writings that everyone who believes in him receives complete forgiveness of sins through the power of his name.”
Acts 10:43

“For God made the only one who did not know sin to become sin for us, so that we might become the righteousness of God through our union with him.”
2 Corinthians 5:21( TPT)
“He has not punished us as we deserve for all our sins, for his mercy towards all those who fear and honor him is as great as the heights of the heavens above the earth.”
Psalms103:10-11( LB )
“Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: who forgives all your sin, who heals all your diseases; who redeems your life from destruction; who crowns you with loving kindness and tender mercies; who satisfies your mouth with good things; so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.”
Psalms103:2-4 ( KJV )
